Workplace: We've done all the work. Now work on your employees.
With rising healthcare costs, anything your organization can do to improve employee health will improve the bottom line.[Photo] - Woman using Nautilus machine

The Wisconsin Governor's Challenge can help you manage those costs - by reducing absenteeism, building a stronger sense of community and morale, even decreasing turnover and training costs.

What the Challenge is all about
Some of Wisconsin's most successful organizations, such as Trek Bicycle Corporation, have used the Challenge to build a healthier workforce. With the support of Governor Jim Doyle and the Wisconsin Sports Development Corporation, we're taking the Challenge to the next level.

Any workplace - big or small - can form a group to take the Challenge. With over 100 activities to choose from, it's a great way to make staying active fun for everybody. You can walk to the park over lunch, play softball or go for a bike ride.

So get your organization involved today!

How do I get started?

It only takes a few moments to create a group for your organization. After registration, you'll receive an email you can send out to build excitement and let everyone know the Group ID Number they should use to sign in. You can also update your group information at any time.

Get everyone involved
Make sure you're engaging as many co-workers as you can. Ask for feedback. Listen to their ideas. There are all kinds of ways to get the word out: meetings, emails, posters, bulletins, you name it. The idea is to get people excited about the Challenge and keep them motivated.

Plan your activities
If you want your group to focus on specific activities - such as aerobics, walking or soccer - you can select them using the tool on the site. Then you're ready to go!

Reward success
Exactly how you motivate people in your workplace is up to you. You can award gift certificates, post the names of award winners online, or throw a party for everyone who completes the program. In addition, Governor Doyle will recognize workplaces with the highest participation rates.
